April 10: Surgery Went Well, Recovery Weekend Ahead

Happy Friday! Igor's surgery went well yesterday, they did a lot of grafting work on both of his legs. His knees are currently immobilized until they do some healing. The burns below his knee were considered 4th degree. The doctor sounds confident in their work and says everything is looking like it should at this point. We've since learned that he is burnt on about 65% of his body, as compared to their original estimate of 50%. We are so lucky to be at a hospital that can accommodate the severity of his case. He'll be able to rest throughout the weekend, aside from his daily dressing changes. Luckily, they do use pain management for these changes.

Once again, I ask that Igor is kept in your thoughts and prayers, as well as his children, and family, who are also shouldering the weight and gravity of this whole situation. Sending our love <3
